About Jordan, Your Coach
Hey, I’m Jordan, a recent transplant from Chicago, IL!
I’ve gotten to do some great things with piano:
Earned my Bachelor’s and Master of Music in Jazz Performance (Minnesota State & University of Miami)
Won multiple 1st place finishes in Jazz Competitions (2011 Eau Claire Festival & 2012 Downbeat award)
And now, I’m a faculty member at Well-Balanced Pianist, teaching pianists how to use their bodies and minds well at the piano.
Yet, despite all that experience…
Piano hasn’t always been easy for me…
Because in 2014, after almost twenty years behind the keys…
I suddenly developed debilitating tendonitis in my left hand.
I couldn’t even play basic songs without excruciating pain…
And for a pianist?
It was my worst nightmare come true!
This “career ender” led me on a months long search for a solution…
I was desperate to try anything so I could play again…
That search led me to discovering the Taubman Approach, a unique method that allows anyone to play…
Even if they have movement or physical limitations.
It’s been a game changer for me.
I’ve used the Taubman Approach with students in all 3 of my programs:
“Piano Foundations”, which helps new and returning adult pianists play favorite music comfortably
“Early Years”, a program that cultivates love for music in new and continuing students ages 6-18
“Pain Solutions”, which is specifically for piano players who suffer from pain, discomfort, or tension
